History
Bred from Japan around 1888 By Kunizo Hiroi it is one of the foundation type of koi.
Platinum Ogon
A Platinum (also known as Platinum Ogon) is a silvery-white color, reflective and mirror like scales.
History
The Platinum was created in the mid-20th century from selective breeding part of Ogon group. Contributions from breeder Sawata Aoki in 1946.
Shiro Utsuri
A Shiro Utsuri has striking black and white patterns and can grow to 40 inches.
History
The Shiro Utsuri appeared around 1925 by Kazuo Minemura. Part of the Utsurimono group. Breeding improved, quality and size by the Omosako koi farm.
Ki Utsuri
A Ki Utsuri has black and yellow markings dating back to 19th century. It was renamed by Elizaburo Hoshino
History
It was crossbred with a Magoi (black koi) and a Ki Bekko which gave it the Ki Utsuri name where the yellow reflection comes through the black.
Hi Utsuri

Hi Utsuri, was crossbred with a Ki Utsuri with Kohaku. Part of the Utsurimono group.
Asagi
Asagi has a blue-gray body with red markings. The red markings are typically on the sides, fins and belly.
History
Dating back to 1800 Niigata Prefecture in Japan. Breeding from the black Magoi.
Showa Sanshoku
A Showa Sanshoku (also known as Showa Sanke) is essentially a black koi on which white and red are imposed.
History
The Showa was developed by Jukichi Hoshino, who paired a Kohaku with a Ki-Utsuri and made its debut during 1927, ending the Taisho era.
Taisho Sanke
A Sanke (also known as Taisho Sanke) is essentially a white koi with black and red markings.
History
The Sanke appeared during the Taisho era. 1912 to 1926. The Sanke is very popular among the koi community.
